About the Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory
Welcome to the Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory in the College of Informations Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. The laboratory was founded in 1990 by Vasant Honavar in Department of Computer Science at Iowa State University. The laboratory moved to Pennsylvania State University in September 2013.
Members of the laboratory conduct research in artificial intelligence, machine learning, information integration, causal inference, knowledge representation, as well scientific applications of AI in life sciences, biomedical and health sciences, material sciences, cognitive, behavioral and brain sciences and related areas.
The laboratory's research is funded in part by grants from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Agriculture, and the Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Biomedical Data Sciences and Artificial Intelligence held by Vasant Honavar, the College of Information Sciences and Technology, the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences, and the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences at Pennsylvania State University.
Additional information about current projects in the Artificial Intelligence Research Laboratory can be found on the Research Overview, Grants, Projects and Publications pages.
